CCA

CCA is a religious based organization that is making a huge difference in our community and the surrounding areas.

  1. I believe that CCA is one of the smartest and most helpful charity organizations because it offers a wide range of aid to those in need. CCA gives out food, clothing, education, shelter and so much more to those who are having trouble. Most organizations only have the power to lend a helping hand in one region, while CCA has been able to master all regions for over thirty-five years. This organization also gives people who are well-off a chance to spread their good fortune through volunteer work. Through the actions of CCA the world is becoming an improved and happy place, and once more charities and organizations are able to mirror what CCA does, then the world will become much better much faster.

  2. My mother every once and while always gathers up clothes and certain house items and brings them to CCA. She always asked me to bring everything to a donation center in Lewisville. I never really knew what the point was and who this "stuff" would go to. After seeing and reading the peoples testimonies online, I now realize that CCA is a great organization that helps families in need. It is amazing what people can accomplish if they donate to CCA. Just think about all of the clothes that are just sitting in your drawers and closet at home. You might not think that those clothes can make a difference in someones life, but you'd be surprised.

  3. Christian Community Action is a respectable organization for many reasons. With so much poverty and tragedy around the world, it is hard to remember that there are people who suffer right here in our own community who need just as much help. CCA hopes to not only provide temperary necessities for these families, but to help them back on their feet so that they can get back on the right path, leading to a better life for the future generations of their family. The respect that the more fortunate people in the DFW area have for CCA can be seen through the vast number of donations and volunteers coming in daily. I personally have donated clothes and furniture to CCA, as well as been in the store- people who shop there are very greatful for the help CCA provides them, because if they could not recieve that help their lives would be a lot worse off. CCA inspires others to get involved in the community.

  4. CCA (Christian Community Action) is a non-profit organization that helps people in need in various ways. I've been a volunteer for CCA for over 10 years and have seen the miracles they perform. Through their Back to School Store, Food Pantry, Christmas Store, Kids Eat Free Programs, and Financial Aid Programs, they are able to fight poverty in our communities. Not only do they provide generous services, they provide training classes to help people learn necessary job skills. The people that I’ve encountered when I worked as a volunteer have always been very grateful for what they have been given. It has taught me that they just want to be normal like everyone else.

  5. For many Coppell students, the acronym, CCA, merely signifies the creator of the “Resale” thrift store- a building filled with perceivably second-hand and unwanted items. As a result, the beneficial effects on society instigated by the organization have been initially recognized as diminutive. But, in reality, such an “unhelpful” store has been able to provide $5 million dollars in annual revenue for the assistance of needy families through job training, healthcare, and rent paying. While this specific example of aid alone seems indisputably remarkable, the extent of the CCA’s help to society does not end here. By providing basic food, shelter, education, and yearly Christmas gifts to 42 communities, the CCA has also been able to facilitate hope and improvement within the lives of 12,000 underprivileged people. Thus, because it effectively changes the outlooks of so many individuals and provides them with opportunities for success without demanding any form of compensation, the CCA is undeniably selfless in nature. Consequently, I am only able to regard it with complete admiration. Because countless Americans do not even take notice to the masses of homeless and powerless people existing around them, such an influential organization that works to bolster these groups’ futures is perceived as a breath of fresh air. Therefore, the CCA is both reputable and inspirational, as it is able to better the society and invoke the motivation for onlookers, such as myself, to do the same.

  6. Christian Community Action is an organization that means alot to me, my family, and the community I am apart of. It is so involved within the area's borders, but also across the metroplex and state. CCA helps those who are in need of simple items that would virtually be no big deal to us, such as school supplies, backpacks, and even the basic necessisites such as food and toiltries. Having volunteered at the food pantry as well as store, it means alot to see the emotion that men and women have once they step through those doors. When they see backpacks filled to the brim with new school supplies for their children, a wave of relief floods them because one of their greatest worries disappeared in an instant. When they see Thanksgiving baskets piled high with everything from canned fruit to a turkey, they know they can rest easier that night. The part I enjoy the most when volunteering is the faces of families when they realize no money is needed to pay for these items they so desperately needed. All you can see is relief, joy, and most of all, gratefulness. CCA is a wonderful organization that should get more credit for what they do.

  7. Christian Community Action, CCA, is such an amazing organization. They don’t give things away, but instead make food, clothes, furniture and anything else a family might need, more affordable. The company makes people who do not have much money still feel like they can support their families. Since the organization receives thousands of donations a week, they never run out of items for the families. Also, since all the employees are volunteers, we know all proceeds and donations go directly back to the people. It is truly an amazing thing. I really like how CCA operates and gives back to their community. They never turn anyone down. Even the Coppell kids who go to buy fun stuff are allowed to go. And no ones is ever turned away because of financial problems. If they need food, clothes, whatever, CCA will make sure they have it. It is so amazing what this organization has done for Texas and all over the area and it truly is so heart warming to know how many people are helped by this wonderful organization.

  8. This video really impacted me, to see people with so little and still they are so joyous. I am amazed at how Christian Community Action is able to help so many people in so many different ways. Through my church, I enjoy working in the food pantry at CCA. It is such a humbling experience to see people with so little and it really makes me realize how blessed I am. Although it is great to go out of state and out of the country for mission trips, it is also important to realize that there are people in our own metroplex that are in need as well. I think Christian Community Action does a great job in helping people in our community, but also in getting people involved with helping. I would encourage everyone to volunteer at CCA because it is a great organization that benefits many.

  9. Christian Community Action I have found to be an exeptional organization for a number of reasons. The first being that it successfully aids regions in North Texas. I always hear stories on the news about fundraisers being organized to send money and/or food to other countries that are in need of our help. However, there are thousands of homeless, ill and poor, helpless individuals (and families) right here in our community that need our help just as much as the rest of the world! The CCA helps this population of families in need and alleviates their hardships bit by bit in providing them with food, shelter and education. It also touched me when I learned that the CCA not only provides these families with the basics but also gives them something to look forward to during the holiday season by giving Christmas presents to children of families who can't afford to give their children presents. Happiness is important too--not just the basics of food and shelter. CCA truly makes a big difference in local Texas communities.

  10. Christian Community is a truly incredible organization. In times of need they offer families services that could never be repaid, and that is the great part about it. The selfless service this organization does all in the name of their God. For me it is great to see people doing such things, and its even greater to be a part of all of it. I have worked with CCA a number of times and I can tell you that there hasn't been a day in my life that I've felt more satisfied at the end of the day. The people you help are so thankful, and you think to yourself "Why don't I do this all the time". I spend so much time doing this that don't matter when I could be helping out, and CCA is an organization that allows people to do that. Even people who are super busy can help out, by donating old clothes, school supplies, etc. I am so thankful for CCA, and for the people who work within it. They are really changing the world for the better.

  11. Like Audrey said, my first introduction to CCA was the Resale store. I had already discovered and visited Goodwill stores, so I knew the structure and purpose of the stores fairly well. I knew that the stores were a great shopping resource, especially for those who found themselves in tough times financially. However, my experience with CCA completely changed when my father became the head of the non-profit organization, and I got to volunteer and witness the workings of CCA firsthand. In addition to sponsoring the Resale stores, Christian Community Action has their own clinic for those who may not be able to afford medical care and a back-to-school store for families who can't afford to buy a lot of school supplies. They also work with families or individuals in debt to help them get back on their feet and gain financial independence again.

But my favorite part of CCA is the food pantry. Everyday, many people come to CCA to collect food items with coupons that they receive based on financial need. The pantry is set up just like a grocery store--with aisles of produce, cereal, dairy, snacks, and even cash register lines. To me, this is what makes CCA so remarkable; they are making a difference in the lives of struggling people all the while making sure that they don't feel troubled or "different" because of their current conditions. Everything is set up just as if they were going to general medical offices, office stores, clothing stores, or grocery stores. But instead of feeling ashamed or afraid that they can't pay, they are comfortable and excited to receive the help and learn how to fix their problems. I'm so glad I've gotten the chance to interact with the CCA employees and their visitors because I now know that this organization is doing so much more than providing donated clothing in the Resale stores; it's changing the lives of so many in North Dallas.

  12. CCA is an organization I not only think highly of but I have also donated to it and volunteered there in the past so I have first hand experience of how great it is. CCA is the easiest way for people like us to donate our so called "old junk" to people that can really appreciate it. Their mission statement is "In the spirit of Jesus Christ, Christian Community Action ministers to the poor by providing comprehensive services that alleviate suffering, bring hope and change lives." If you have not already, I truly suggest volunteering at the store because there is nothing better than seeing the smile on someones face as they walk through the doors. In Coppell, we take for granted how fortunate we are. Not all of the world can afford designer clothes or any clothes at all so the least we can do is donate time and junk to those in need through CCA. CCA is a real life example of "one mans trash is another mans treasure."

Anytime we can, my dad would come into my room and my sisters and ask us for clothes that were either too small for us or that we would never wear again. i asked him why when i was younger and he told me it was for the CCA. when i got older i researched what it was and decided i wanted to get involved with it, and did. i just love how they are an organization that helps people who need help financially and make them just feel good. I also learned that i could donate more than just old clothes, and started donating everything i could. the organization is so helpful to anybody who needs it, and is always a friend to all.

  14. After a rough economy the past few years, poverty has become a very prevalent issue in today's society. Thanks to programs like Christian Community Action, people are able to donate a wide assortment of items ranging from food to clothing to other miscellaneous items. It's hard to understand how inspiring this program is until you see how much you specifically are positively impacting underpriveleged people's lives. CCA as a whole can bring out the best of people in showing that donating your items can truly change someones life.

  15. Christian Community Action is a highly regarded organization for many reasons. It is easy to overlook to amount of poverty and misfortune in the world, especially in our area, but CCA never fails to lend more than a helping hand. CCA is not like any other service organization. Instead of providing a quick and easy fix for these families, they really take the time to help out these families in order to ensure that they will live from then on out a successful life, especially for the generations to come. It shows through all of the success stories that CCA really does everything in their power to give continuous support to these families. CCA does not only do a good job of helping people and families in need, but they also do an outrageous job of getting communities involved in their program as well. This is more than shown through their numerous clothing and food donations that they receive every single day. I am living proof that CCA does all that they say they do because I have personally donated clothes myself many times as well as my friends and family and the people who shop at CCA are truly thankful for all of the community support that they are given in order to get back on their feet. CCA not only helps the people in their own community, but inspires others to get involved too.
